Here are some links to what has been entertaining me lately . . .
I think I am jealous of a 14 year old boy. This might help explain why.
Summer is here and I am really in the mood to fill my house up with house plants. I think it's also because I want pretty planters like this, this, and this!
Jeff has been out of town on business a lot recently and I've killed our only current house plant due to lack of watering. I think if I get any house plants I may have to invest in one of these, or this.
Or, maybe I should just recycle!
I need to do a post about what I ended up wearing to my brother and sister-in laws weddings. Thanks to my very own younger sister getting hitched later this summer, I need to find yet another outfit! This online shop was like discovering wedding dress wear GOLD I tell you. Dresses in every size, good prices, and CUSTOMIZABLE! check it out.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

What to Wear to a Wedding
Our family has been blessed to have two weddings coming up in the family this Spring. Lucky us! In our family even if we aren't bridesmaids or part of the official wedding party, the family always tries to dress in the wedding colors so that we look cohesive for the family photos.
My sister-in-laws wedding's colors are navy blue and gray (like a dark, gun metal color). My brother-in-laws wedding's colors are teal, royal blue, and purple. You know what this means? I think I might want to go shopping. And I never want to go shopping. But just because it's a good excuse, and you can never have too many cute dresses, and it's pretty and Spring, it's all making me want to bust out my wallet and buy something. Here's what I've been eyeing so far (least expensive to more expensive).

This dress actually comes in this blue and teal. I think I could make the blue work for both weddings maybe? Do you think it is in between enough to work for navy and royal blue? I think I could dress them up a bit with a cardigan, tights, and jewelry. Our weddings aren't usually super formal anyways.

I love the leather ties on the side, but don't like that if I wanted to wear a cardigan (as I do almost every day) that I would cover up the cutest part of the dress.

. . .and then I went crazy for ASOS
Sadly, I don't think they have my size in a few of them (top middle, teal, and bottom right), but I would gladly take any of these dresses. I am VERY sad that they do not have the teal dress in the bottom middle. It is so very very pretty! I have never ordered from ASOS but always hear good things. Maybe I will be brave and test them out.
I think the floral navy dress could work for both weddings as well, but is it weird to wear the same dress for both? My siblings are on the same side of the family, so it's likely to be the same crowd for both weddings. It makes me think I need two different dresses.
I seriously only shop when I am just trying to spend time with friends or family and they want to go shopping. It is not something I do in my spare time, and I've been away from it for so long I feel kind of lost. Where else is a good place to go dress shopping?

A Few Unnecessary Things
- Our re-plumbers didn't put our house back to where we I can't tell they were here. I can totally see where they patched and painted our walls. Jeff kind of thinks I'm crazy, he can't tell the difference between mate and gloss paint, but I'm gonna make them re-do it anyways. I know it will drive me nuts. This means my house is STILL a mess!
- I can't stop day dreaming about vacations and spending time with my family. Along with that I am swamped with church calling duties. This does not look good for my 30x30 list. Time is ticking!
-Speaking of my 30 x 30 list, I can't decide what kind of unnecessary clothing item I should purchase to finish off #4 on my list. Here is what a quick search has aroused in me:
For some reason unnecessary clothing items always reminds me of accessories. Probably because even though most would say they are essential to putting an outfit together, I can never seem to get it together enough to get that far in assembling an outfit. These are cute enough though that I just might be able to manage to put one of these guys on!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Window Shopping Wednesday
The weather the past couple weeks has been so amazing. It makes me want to go clothes shopping, which is odd because I hate shopping for clothes. Instead, I did some virtual window shopping. Wouldn't it be lovely if I could just go home and have all these goodies in my closet? (Free of charge of course. In reality I probably wont pony up any money to buy anything- haha!)

Clothes can be found here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
If you can't tell I've had a thing for Navy and Gray lately. I think they can still work in spring.

THE HOUSE DRESS SEARCH
I am so excited. I have been searching for cute little retro house dresses that are modest for a long time and I feel like I am finally starting to hit the jack pot. I'm not sure if more people are just making them now or if I finally am just stumbling onto the right places. First off, Jeff got me this adorable navy shirt wrap dress from Target for my Birthday. I love that it is long enough, has sleeves and, the best thing of all, it has pockets. Getting a cute little number like that made an already great Birthday even better. (When I get them uploaded I will put some pictures of our family gathering from my Birthday on here)
Now, thanks to one of my new favorite blogs - Design Mom - and being bored at work - I found another great little store that sells great house dresses. The Shabby Apple - http://www.shabbyapple.com/default.aspx - they have a ton of cute dresses that really wont break the bank, especially
when they have great sales. Pictured are a couple of my favorites.
I love that retro dresses are in style right now.
I think that it is pretty funny the way things work out. When I was in college I really thought I wanted to be a career woman, that the traditional roles for women were so degrading and I wanted to do something better. I'm not saying that I didn't want to have kids or a family, I did, but I was going to do it on my own-by my terms. Now that I am married I can hardly wait to start a family. Four years later I wish I could quit my job tomorrow to be a full time mom running around in little 50's house dresses, sewing, baking and teaching my children. I still want to do things my own way but I now no longer take shame in those traditional roles that have been given to women; instead I relish in them, take great pride in how important the role of a woman is (which I do understand to be more than baking and sewing). So, yes, now I get very excited over a dress and love it.
